My Students

Our Chicago school district is full of special, diverse, and unique children with needs that mirror this. Due to poor budgeting, students like mine suffer from inadequate resources like crowded classrooms and never-enough technological equipment.

My students are very eager to learn and very excited about kindergarten.

Eighty-four percent of our students come from low-income homes, and most students live in a neighborhood that is high in violence and crime. Despite their circumstances, they are ready to learn and grow this year!

My Project

These books will provide my students with knowledge about their culture while entertaining them about the world. The books that they read in class do not match the environment that they live in. I want my students to start seeing themselves in a different light so that they can be motivated and know that they have a bright future. The books that were selected will assist my students in learning the importance of their culture and history. Working with students from low-income areas limits the number of resources the students have at home. By having these books the students will be able to have different resources to pull evidence from. By helping these supply my students with these award-winning books, it will assist them in expanding their minds.
