My Students

All our first graders at K. Elementary are pumped to be on the road to college. Each one of our classrooms is named after a college and every kid is passionate about growing his or her brain!

Our students live in East Nashville and over 90% receive free and reduced lunch.

Our school is a KIPP charter school that is determined to make sure everyone of our students will go to and through college! We have two teachers in every classroom and will do whatever it takes to make sure our students get what they need.

My Project

We believe that students need hands-on experiences to develop the rich vocabulary to be great readers, writers, mathematicians and scientists. We teach in thematic units- meaning that when we are studying magnets- we will read books about magnets, write about them, do math with them and of course, do experiments with them. Being able to go to the Adventure Science Center will allow our students to have experiences with the scientific method, which we will be learning all about in the weeks before this field trip!

With funding, our students will be able to experience a world outside of their own.

They will be able to see live, inquiry-based science exploration and use it to make sense of the world around them. Attending the Adventure Science Center will change our students into scientists!
