My Project

My students are avid and voracious readers and I love to support their independent reading habits by offering them a wide range of content to choose from- books that I know are worth the read, ones that will open their minds.

Over the past few years, I have attempted to update and refresh some titles in our classroom library.

Since the testing season is almost upon us, I want to remind my kids of their love of the printed word, and its value beyond a skills check. Reading builds vocabulary, helps us understand and grapple with alternative perspectives, gives us windows and lenses to rich knowledge, and helps build empathy and identity. Not only does it help our mental well-being, but it benefits us as a society in promoting civic engagement.

I promise these books will be read, borrowed, and some taken ;-) by my students.
