My Project

My students are extremely creative, even though they struggle academically! I have seen kids who are multiple years behind academically, excel in art. Most of my students have a great deal of trauma, and through painting and drawing they can express their feelings in a healthy way.

Art is a way for them to connect with a story or a character in a story.

After reading a novel, students have a choice of projects they can complete. These materials will also be used for any of the artistic projects they choose. Students have the opportunity to do a “paint with me” with a staff member through our PBIS program.
