My Students

Students come to our school ready to learn! They are eager to be part of our classroom community! Each child has his or her unique personality, but all are lovable and well rounded individuals.

Creating a fun and creative environment for my students to learn is what I strive for!

I am lucky to have supportive parents and an equally supportive community. Our school is a high performing school and I always try to build a love for school early on to help their motivation in further learning. Its a great environment to work with!

My Project

I want to engage young learners in my classroom. This project will focus on 3 different areas; flexible seating, new books and organizational supplies.

Children are active and not all of them can sit in a chair to do their activities!

I need to supply them different options to 'sit' in/on to help them learn and stay focused through out the day. Flexible seating will give them an option to choose where and what they would like to sit; a bean bag, cushions, rugs, balance ball or their chair.

I would utilize the books to amp up my lessons as an introduction to new topics. They will also be used in our science center for creative minds to review topics we have been over.

Students also need access to supplies in our room; to organize supplies, slide drawers will be used. It's easy for them to open and the clear drawers show exactly what's inside. I will fill them with writing materials such as the gel pens and other materials I supply. The poly folders will help enclose different types of paper.

The wood organizer will serve as the 'cubby' for students to place their finished work to take home, while saving space in our room.

Hangers are used for anchor charts that students can take with them to use as a resource anywhere in our room with their 'flexible seating' options.

I also have a Disney themed room to help keep things 'fun' and inspiring for young learners so, I incorporated items in this theme, such as name tags that come with lots of resources on them and the flexible seating options.

All these materials will help students to become more alert during class time, give them their independence and engage them in their learning making a magical environment!
