My Students

Since this is the first year our school has special needs students, I need adapted physical education equipment to help students succeed and meet their physical goals. My special needs students are from 2-4 years old. Most of the students in our school are from low-income families. They need adapted physical education to help them improve and meet specific physical goals. They are very excited each day to see what kind of equipment they will use and how they will use it.

My Project

You can help my special needs students by giving them some of the adaptive physical education equipment they need. My students have specific physical goals and need equipment that can be modified for them to obtain those goals. Easy grip balls will help the students with gross motor skills such as throwing and catching abilities. Agility ladders and tactile discs will help students improve their balance, strengthen muscles, and increase traveling skill abilities. By adding this adaptive physical education equipment to the gym, it will allow students to accomplish objectives they would not be able to complete. This equipment will help students in developing their gross motor skills, balancing skills, and traveling skills while also fulfilling some of their sensory needs. It will help students develop spatial awareness, body control, and improve their performance through differentiated active play.
