My Project

I'm going into my third year of teaching adaptive phys ed. Throughout this past school year, I took note of skills that students needed to work on and equipment that was needed. Because of a lack of money, I can only add equipment to my gym over time. I realized that my students who use wheelchairs and walkers were not comfortable or able to move around a yoga mat effectively. The gymnastic mats would be a lot more comfortable for them, and it would motivate them to do more floor exercises. The bucket and drumsticks are a great way to teach all my students about rhythm, and it's a great activity for students with mobility issues. The balance beam is not an ordinary balance beam, and the unique structure will encourage my students to work on their balance. My students love Zoom ball, which encourages them to use their arm and chest muscles. This would replace our broken Zoom ball. My student body is made up of students with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, and other cognitive disabilities. Every dollar helps me reach my goal of helping my students on their fitness and wellness journey.
