This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are a Preschool to Kindergarten special day classroom serving students with severe disabilities. Our classroom is lacking large format Big Books often seen in early education centers.

Big pictures are essential for story time so that all students can "see" the story being read aloud.

We are also looking forward to creating adaptive books for our low-vision and sensory seeking students with a coil binding machine.

My goal is to capture the attention of my young students by making every read-aloud accessible through Big Books illustrations and our house made adaptive books.

My students have various means of accessing education. Some have low-vision, others have physical limitations and all have limited attention spans due to their young age.
