Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager to learn about the human body and the study of life as a whole. These students take AP Biology and Honors Anatomy and Physiology. As a STEM-designated school, my students are often challenged to apply concepts learned in the classroom to their outside world. They often partake in hands-on collaborative work to increase engagement and boost their higher-level thinking skills.

Students at our magnet school take a wide variety of AP and Dual enrollment courses situated on a University campus on the intercoastal providing them the opportunity to deeply explore the world of Marine and Environmental Science.

My students come from a diverse array of backgrounds all incredibly passionate, inquisitive, and hopeful to make a difference in their community.

My Project

In the past years my school occupied classrooms on a University campus. This school year we were able to move into our newly constructed school building. One of the exciting upgrades we received in the classroom are the Promethean boards.

In order to fully use all of the boards capabilities I would use the Microsoft Wireless Adapter to to connect to promethean for smooth learning.

I would be given the opportunity to teach from anywhere in the classroom rather than static in the front of the classroom. This would help my students as I would be able to walk around and answer questions as I am lecturing.

As an environmentally focused school I am doing my part in limiting the amount of work done on paper. This entails that most of the assignments are turned in online. With the use of the apple pencil I would be able to provide better feedback in this digital age. The pencil would be used to edit assignments and provide written feedback directly on my students assignment so they have direct access to feedback on all work they turn in. This helps my students as better effective feedback leads to better students who learn from their mistakes.
