Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a unique bunch of joy. My students are hard-working and loving. Despite their disabilities, they are always eager to learn. My student's required manipulatives and a wide range of materials to complete their work.

My students have a wild range of disabilities that sometimes challenge their ability to learn in school.

Learning is not as easy as it seems. They require that materials or lessons are presented to them in a modification that addresses their unique learning style and academic ability. Using manipulatives and diverse learning strategies to provide access to each student to the content being presented, I'm able to give my students various entry points throughout my lessons to show what they know and to build on.

My Project

Most of my students if not all, come from low-income households. This past year has been challenging emotionally and financially for most of my students.

Many of my parents rely on public assistance and asking them for basic materials for their child, will add an additional load of stress.

My project if funded will bring relief to my students and their parents. I'm asking for basic yet very important tools to foster their reading and math skills. I'm asking for reading and math journals to allow my students to build on their current skills without so much pressure. Having the opportunity to work on their assignments using their reading and math journals will allow my students to break each task in chunks.
