My Project

The kindergarten students in my class are all diagnosed with Autism. Although some of my students communicate verbally, most use sign language, picture supports, or communication devices. All of my students have learning challenges and difficulty communicating and using spontaneous language. These enthusiastic young learners are all highly motivated during activities involving literature.

My students need immersive multi-sensory experiences, with visual communication supports to facilitate their language and literacy skills.

They need frequent opportunities to listen to stories, practice the words, answer questions, and share in the retelling using manipulatives, in order to develop their language and vocabulary. Please help me continue to successfully build their literacy skills.
