My Project

I would like to create more engagement for my students diagnosed with Autism. My students have language delays, and or attention issues that make it difficult for them to listen to stories. By adding visual supports to adapt these board books, I can increase engagement!

Adapted books are so valuable for students who have difficulty maintaining attention when the teacher is reading, and adapted books can help!!

A few titles include Little Blue Truck, Melissa & Doug Children's Book - Poke-a-Dot, Polar Bear, and Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?.

I want to give their busy little hands something to hold on to (matching a picture) to a board book with more durable pages that will hold better. These board books represent so many seasonal themes I would like to explore with them this year, and with my students for many years to come.
