My Project

As part of my humanities and language arts classes, I ask students to try free-writing with different pens, pencils, even markers, to see if perhaps one of the things holding them back has been using the wrong tool.

Many professional adults have a "favorite pen," but most students who struggle in academia (like mine) think that's the silliest thing they've ever heard!

This activity has them try out some of my favorites, as well as some favorites from online reviews and even a New York Times article about the subject. The only thing is, buying pens like this isn't cheap- and honestly, I want them to have them to keep and use whenever they need to do any writing.

If you find the right pair of shoes, you can walk all day: if you find the right pen, you might write the next great story the world needs to read! Please help us buy a bunch of high-quality writing instruments for a group of kids whose stories have yet to be written.
