My Students

Third grade means making new friends, learning new ideas, reading new books, solving new problems, playing new games, reaching new goals, making new mistakes, & having fun the whole way through! I have a fantastic third grade class of learners, readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, explorers and more! They are excited about learning, curious about new things, and just sweet kids all around. Our school is a wonderful community. Everyone is kind and willing to help one another in any way possible.

My Project

Flexible seating is a choice provided to students that allows them to work around the room comfortably and focused.

It provides students the environment they need to be their best.

Students do their best when they are comfortable. There is a lot of research behind how students sit and the best way to get oxygen to their brains.

When students sit up straight instead of slouching, they get more oxygen to their brains, thereby making their brains work better and helping them become more attentive.

My students love being able to choose the types of seating to do their best. When there is enough choices for flexible seating, they are able to get to work right away and start their group work efficiently.

My students are in my classroom the majority of the day. Wobble chairs, yoga balls, and stools allow them to move frequently throughout the entire day that they are with me, just shy of 7 hours.
