Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Keeping a student's attention on their school work can be difficult at times for teachers. Doing so when that child has special needs or a learning disability can prove to be even more challenging. Research has shown that students work better when given flexible seating choices. This holds especially true when teaching students with special needs.

Active seating allows for the student to have options for getting comfortable which results in them being more focused and alert while in the classroom.

Some students need to move. Active seating allows them to lean, wobble, or rock, if they need to, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength.Burning more calories increases metabolism and in turn, helps keep young minds more alert and focused.

It's 2022 and many classes have done away with the old desk and chair model in classrooms. That isn't a coincidence. These new seats will really help my students out and provide them with a better opportunity to perform at their best.
