My Students

I’m a Special Education teacher of the Self-Contained Kindergarten/1st Grade Classroom. My students are delightful, energetic, and motivated young learners. Their years in Elementary School are full of excitement and growth. We will be focusing on mastering academic skills while keeping my youngsters healthy both physically and emotionally.

Not everyone learns in the same way. While an auditory or visual learner may be able to master skills by watching or listening, kinesthetic learners will learn better if they perform the task themselves. Offering hands-on activities will benefit all types of learners in my integrated classroom since the students will be provided with opportunities to not only listen and observe but to perform as well.

My Project

Young minds need to stay motivated in the process of learning new skills. English language acquisition, reading, and writing skills are essential assets for early grades students. Hand2Mind offers the vast hands of activities that will engage my students in learning and will enhance their literacy foundations: phonics and fluency, conventions, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. hand2mind VersaTiles Literacy Classroom Set, an Independent Self-Checking & Skill Practicing System (Grade 1), aligns with State and National Standards. The activity set will provide my students with many learning opportunities and will be a great addition to my classroom.
