Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A typical day of class is warm-up and lesson focus that revolves around little equipment and space. We are very creative with the small space and equipment. I want the students to be very active and creative students at the end of the year. "Learn and grow" PE is all about growing through playing.

My students are from Los Angeles and 99% Hispanic or latino.

They are very active and eager kids who want to learn and be prepared for College. They aspire to be doctors, lawyers, teachers, and engineers. ACRMA #8 is a school where the main focus is the students and their desire to enjoy all the core subjects and focus in the STEAM elements. The staff and administration are dedicated to their full academic success. We strive for success and live by the motto "Today's Challenge is Tomorrow's Success".

My Project

I teach my PE Class in a parking lot, the students are very positive with their skills and limited space. We focus on creative games like balloon tag, capture the flag, music station rotations, and other none equipment required games or activities. Students will be able to use the scarves, foam balls, and Frisbees in the limited space effectively since these items do not require huge amounts of space and could use these things at home in their front or back yards.They will learn spatial awareness and the necessity of control and teamwork throughout the units.

The donations will help the classroom by giving the students more options to learn and play with.

The skills and activities panned with these items are non-traditional, but focus on skills that can help them in many other activities and sport that they will be a part of later on down the line in high school, college, or just in recreational activities.
