My Students

My students low functioning autistic students. They are very expressive in their own way. when they connect with a lesson they put every effort into completing their task. My students are high school age however they function at an elementary to middle school level.

My students are preparing to graduate or are at an age where they will need to be prepared to function in society.

I teach Life Skills and my classroom is setup as an apartment. My students "work" doing daily chores- fixing the bed, cleaning the kitchen are etc. They enjoy the work and show enthusiasm when they are able to complete their task.

My Project

My students are learning to function in an apartment. The portable sink will be used for washing kitchen utensils and for learning to wash their hands. They are learning health and hygiene practices. The sink will allow me to teach them how to properly wash their hands.

Having the wardrobe will aid in teaching my students to properly fold and hang their clothes.

They can learn to fold their clothes and hang their clothes. The wardrobe will help the students to put their clothes away inside of a dresser and a closet when they are done washing and cleaning their clothes.
