My Project

I am our school's Academic Decathlon and Academic Pentathlon (8th grade team) coach. I'm still learning how to coach both of these teams at once. For Academic Decathlon, we are hoping to finally make it to State Competition.

With this in mind, I want to support my students by giving them customized team shirts to commemorate this year, feel appreciated for all their hard work, and also promote the team to others.

My Academic Decathlon students need this recognition, especially for their hard work being done during this difficult time. Many students on the team couldn't possibly pay the price of over $35 for a team shirt and many of them pick up the free meals offered by LAUSD to take home. I don't want to burden their families by asking for money at the beginning of the school year, but they deserve to have a team shirt just like the other schools.

My Academic Decathlon students need to promote our team for the younger students. I try my best to prove to them that they are able to succeed, but it's helpful for their self-esteem if they receive a reward for their efforts. This is especially true for the students on the team because this is new to them and I hope it will encourage them to be on our Academic Decathlon team next year. We also have graduating seniors who would love a team shirt to commemorate 4 years on the team.

These customized shirts will have our school's colors (teal and black), school name, cougar mascot, and school quote: "Never Give Up on a Dream." These shirts were designed by the team and would be a rare gem for a student to own and proudly wear at school. Thank you for supporting them! I'm so proud of them!
