This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a class of interested, enthusiastic, and bright 3rd graders in Bronx, New York. The students' natural academic ability, personal commitment to their education, and diligence in their work led to their placement in our schools “accelerated” class. This class setting allows me, as the teacher, to aim high. I am able to incorporate New York State Learning Standards grade levels above to elevate my students learning and in turn, provide them with stronger and more enriched learning opportunities.

My Project

I am looking to get various resources to help my students have access to fun and engaging math centers. Some of the materials will aid in the use of materials we already have, such as tablets for mathematical practice. While other resources that are part of this project, such as the Jenga blocks, will help students to have fun while practicing and learning mathematical concepts.

It is important to me that the learning in my classroom comes alive.

These resources will help me to engage my students in student-driven and interested learning and instruction. Please help make our learning dreams come true!
