This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Accessibility for all students is very important in a SPED classroom. Because there are more students coming into the Early Childhood Special Education program (ECSE), more tables are needed. We have very bulky and high tables for our students in Prek and kinder. Although our classroom is a decent size, the tables we have right now are taking up too much unnecessary space. We also need enough space for all our centers. Each center should have enough space to be reached by all my students. With these tables we can have more space to maneuver through the classroom and reach our centers comfortably. All students in my ECSE classroom have disabilities. My students will be able to reach and have access to their work and supplies with these tables without having to climb on top of it. These tables are better suited for my extraordinary students.
