My Project

These computers will allow students to engage in the English curriculum as we move towards a technology-based classroom. Because not all students come equipped to class with a computer, I am hoping to increase their access to classroom activities and collaborative opportunities that require access to technology. My goal is to provide students with the most equitable education possible with the least amount of hurdles to jump in order to access. My students come from uniquely diverse backgrounds and stories. They are able to bring their different lifeworlds into the classroom to teach and contribute to the content. Because of COVID-19, a lot of students have had a harder time getting access to technology and educational resources. By providing computers, we can help them learn better and keep up with the digital world as it keeps growing.

I am also asking for colored pens for students to use in annotating and color-coding documents depending on the focus of the activity.

This will help them will help them organize and highlight thoughts and be able to portray their ideas. These colored pens also encourage students to write as they're fun to doodle with. This will help them stay engaged if they are excited about the pens they're using. Because of COVID, supplies have been harder to source, and not all students have access to basic materials or the financial ability to purchase their own. Providing these pens will make sure that every student has the tools they need to participate fully in our classroom activities.
