My Project

A refrigerator for students with autism to access cold water can make a significant difference in their learning by providing them with a level of independence, comfort, and well-being that can directly impact their ability to focus and engage in class activities.

Many students, particularly those with autism, can have heightened sensitivities to temperature and physical comfort.

Having immediate access to cold water can help students stay hydrated without relying on others for assistance. Proper hydration is essential for cognitive function and maintaining energy levels throughout the day.

A refrigerator can be placed in a space where students can independently access their water when needed. This encourages autonomy, which is often a key part of supporting students with autism, who may thrive on routine and self-regulation.

Sensory issues are common among individuals with autism, and access to cold water could provide a soothing sensory experience, potentially calming students who may feel overwhelmed by classroom stimuli.

Overall, this project aims to create a more supportive and responsive learning environment that is tailored to the individual needs of students with autism. The refrigerator will not only provide physical comfort but also foster emotional well-being and help students develop essential life skills.
