This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Reading is essential for any age group. My 4 and 5 year old students are at an age where they are beginning to discover the joy of reading. Access to books is crucial in order for students to be able to participate and engage with literature. For many of my students and families, language is a barrier to engaging in reading at home. I would like to provide my students and families with books in Spanish to be able to check out from a classroom library. They can use these to borrow and read at home. By doing this, all students can have access to books and can participate in reading at home.
