This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are the most at-risk of dropping out in our district. As part of the expulsion program, I teach SEL, and using these stools to try to encourage participation in our daily circle-ups and to get out of our traditional desks would really benefit their bodies, minds, and engagement. They are students who are attempting to regain lost credits by taking in-person character development classes, as well as, online courses in place of classes they failed in their early high school years. The supplies I am requesting will help students engage in our daily circle-up ritual of checking in each morning while also getting out of their comfort zones. My goal is for students to be eager to participate in our daily ritual with little cajoling from myself and other teachers. I also want to try and get them opportunities to talk about themselves and using the cool 3D portrait, they can personalize them to their liking which will hopefully want them to share more.
