Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students want to make progress in their learning! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! My students are ready to make progress! It is absolutely essential for this growth to occur. As an educator, I need tools to help make this happen in my classroom. My students come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.

School exposes my students to experiences and knowledge that their home life cannot always provide.

I would like to establish an equitable learning environment for all the students in my classroom.

To do so, I require the necessary supports such as reading materials at different. levels to accomodate ELL students, students with disabilities and high ability students. Items like whiteboards and flexible seating, will allow me to work with students in a small group setting. Anchor charts and signs will help to support the expose and usuage of language and concepts across the curriculum.

I would like some modern tools in my classroom to help decrease material collection and organization, such as a hole puncher and stapler.

Our school is nestled in the heart of South Los Angeles. We are a Title I school with a very high level of poverty in our community.

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met. They are truly a group of students eager to learn, and they deserve access to materials.
