Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our day begins with a morning meeting where we learn the letters and sounds. My class is a Spanish Bilingual class and students are learning to recognize the letter names and sounds in English. My biggest challenge is to teach letters and sounds recognition to English Language Learners.

All my students in my class are Spanish speakers; English is their second language.

We review the letters and sounds with alphabet cards. The alphabet tubs contain objects to represent the letters of the English alphabet. This will help my students learn the letters of the alphabet faster. They'll be able to learn new vocabulary, too. My school is located in a high poverty area. This will be a very helpful tool to have in my class.

My Project

My students will be using the alphabet tubs to learn the letters and sounds. Also they will learn new vocabulary words. Besides that, they will learn to describe items from the tubs. I will teach initial letters, and sounds; also, I will be able to teach them rhyming words with the objects included in these tubs.

Your donations will help my students get these alphabet tubs.

They will benefit because they will be using visuals to learn the alphabet in English. My students' vocabulary will improve in many different ways. They will learn letters and sounds, new vocabulary words, rhyming words and descriptive words. These alphabet tubs will make language wonders in my classroom.
