This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students demonstrate a love for learning when the opportunity is presented to them. They are always excited when I share new ideas and the books and materials that go along with those ideas. My students are very eager to learn something new each day at school.

My students get excited when I bring in a new game to play or a new activity or even a new book to read which helps them to master a new skill, especially learning about feelings and the way they feel.

They are special because they want to learn. They just need more supplies, games, activities, technology, and books to help them get to the next level in their learning.

My Project

Students today are learning in many different environments such as face to face, virtually and at home remotely. I would love to continue to support my students learning by offering an extended outlet to build their skills of literacy in alphabets and math skills of numbers support by providing fun ways to learn so much more in these subject areas because they are important in learning basic skills of reading, writing and counting.

Alphabet knowledge and counting numbers refers to what young children learn in Pre-Kindergarten as beginning stages of basic knowledge of learning new skills and concepts.

When young children know letter names and sounds and could count past 30 they later in their development will improve and build upon the ability to read, write and arithmetic. Letter name and letter sound knowledge predict subsequent literacy skills independently of other important predictors including phonological awareness and oral language (Burgess & Lonigan, 1998; McBride-Chang, 1999; Wagner, Torgesen, & Rashotte, 1994). I do not want my students to struggle in Pre-Kindergarten but I want them to succeed.
