This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am looking forward to teaching 4th grade math this upcoming school year. In preparation for the year ahead, I am requesting some materials to help make the next school year a huge success.
My students will need a small set of abacuses to use during math stations and in small groups with me, and a rolling cart to help organize them along with other materials they will need for math.
The abacuses are especially helpful to students when working with arrays in multiplication along with having a visual for addition and subtraction as well. They can also be used for basic counting, skip counting, and are just a good tool to have in the classroom to help build students' number sense.
