AAC Intervention

Help me give my students an iPad for those who are nonverbal. The school will not provide iPads for students who need AAC devices. This iPad will be shared with all students who need help communicating.

My Project

This iPad will minimize the behaviors that are caused due to the inability to communicate. Currently, we are using PECS pictures that need to be printed out and laminated. They frequently go missing and I would need to repeat the process over again. Another teacher uses her personal iPad with the app Let Me Talk. She said that it is free to download and that I can take pictures of the items in my classroom and use them as visuals that kids can communicate with. I have four students who are non-verbal and the speech therapist is not supportive of getting them AAC devices. Hopefully, this iPad will help the students be able to communicate with me about what they want and how they are feeling.
