A Year of Magic in Narnia

Help me give my students each a copy of "The Chronicles of Narnia" to use as I read aloud to them each day, and allow their imaginations to enter the Land of Narnia!

My Project

I am requesting copies of "The Chronicles of Narnia" by my favorite author, C.S. Lewis for my fifth through eighth-grade students to use to follow along during our daily read-aloud time. Reading aloud to students is a childhood luxury, that creates lasting memories. It is also, as I have recently received verification from our reading specialist, the most important thing a teacher can do to instill literacy and a love for reading. A love for reading is imperative for students to do well in upper levels of education.

CS Lewis himself is quoted as saying, "Since it is so likely that children will meet cruel enemies, let them at least have heard of brave knights and heroic courage." He is known as one of the most brilliant minds of the past century.

I plan to use each of the 7 books of The Chronicles of Narnia for daily read-aloud, with a deeper book study in March and April, and create some Narnia magic in our classroom. I have already been blessed with a donation of a wardrobe for my classroom, and some other Narnia decor. It is where we will store our new books.
