Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me create a fun workshop for my students during National Poetry Month in April.

The items in this project will make this workshop an exciting journey into the world of classic poetry, where students will actively engage in hands-on activities and immersive experiences.

By incorporating renowned works such as Where the Sidewalk Ends and Emily Dickinson's Illustrated Poems for Children, students will have the invaluable opportunity to explore the masterpieces of iconic poets and understand their enduring impact on literature.

The inclusion of magnetic poetry activities will empower students to unleash their creativity and craft their own unique poems. This approach not only enhances their writing skills but also fosters a deep appreciation for the art of poetry. Writing and reading poetry is not merely an academic exercise; it is a transformative experience that nurtures self-expression, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence.

Exposure to poetry is essential in cultivating a well-rounded education. It encourages students to connect with their thoughts and feelings, providing them with tools to articulate their perspectives. By participating in this workshop, students will discover the beauty of poetic expression and the joy of creating their own literary works.
