This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My TK students are little learners who are excited by any material I put before them, and who regularly are welcoming when their classmates want to join them in play. However, a few of my girls are beginning to form cliques.
I am certain that a dollhouse, for which so many little girls wish, will especially draw many of my girls together, and that they will form bonds with all!
The self-esteem of all of my students will benefit from having dolls with whom they identify culturally. The extra bedroom set will give a space for the grandparents to sleep, something that is common in the homes of several of my students. My students will also grow in communicating, acquiring English (for some), cooperating, and improving fine motor skills. Finally, they will have a vehicle in which to work out family issues. So, this house is both a childhood wish and a teacher's one!
