This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Remember when classroom desks were arranged in military rows? Well, no more. Research shows that breaking up those rows in favor of flexible seating gives students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them, and helps them to work collaboratively, communicate, and engage in critical thinking.

Comfort, community, and collaboration are just some of the benefits of flexible seating.

After implementing flexible classrooms teachers have noticed that their students' classroom and standardized test grades improved; their sensory needs are fulfilled allowing them to be less disruptive, focus on the task at hand and process information more easily; and they moved from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset.

Learning environments have a direct impact on student learning. The impact is even greater when the students have special learning needs, like mine do. Help me give my students a sense of ownership in their learning space and make them more invested in their own education. You and me can make the classroom a wondrous place for them to be!
