This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

HSE is a low-income, high needs school with a high population of English Learners. Our students are curious, hard-working and risk-takers. Our students are getting ready to take part in their second Disney Musicals In School production. Performing in a Disney musical, our students gain confidence, learn to collaborate and truly shine. Last year, they surprised themselves with how talented and brave they could be, and now they are eager to grow. The benefits of being part of a musical go far beyond singing, dancing and acting.

Performing in a musical provides opportunities for every learner to grow beyond their wildest expectation -from problem-solving when someone forget their prop to the stage crew member with special needs who stepped in the lead role when someone was sick. It's an extraordinary experience for all!

My Project

Being a part of a musical at the elementary level helps create students who will be successful in life! Besides acting, singing and dancing, students learn collaboration, communication, critical thinking and tap in to their creativity. Most importantly, many students find out that they can do anything they work hard at!

In order for students to be heard, we need to use wireless body packs and headsets.

It's amazing to see the students feel empowered when they can easily project to the audience. Their confidence grows with these tools and ensure their families can hear them during the live performances.
