Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

M.S 337 is in its 3rd year of producing a Broadway Jr show--Aladdin Jr! The materials requested here helps sustain our after school club, equip our in-school theater class, and provides resources for this year's Broadway Jr. show!

Currently, our auditorium has one working spotlight that cannot change colors and no set pieces to create a Sultan's palace.

The LED Stagelights, therefore, create opportunity for students to learn, practice, and create light designs. The Wooden Plyo boxes serve as multi-purpose set and prop pieces which we will be able to reuse in each production (in class or afterschool). Our Set Designers will work with our Art Teacher to paint a backdrop of Agrabah on the canvas backdrop. The costumes, pillows, and plush toys helps our students create the world of Agrabah for this year's production of Aladdin Jr.

Since October 2024, students have been learning lines and choreography to make a whole new world. While excited about acting, singing, and dancing, they are also expressing interest in technical theater: light, set, and costume design. By supporting this project, you're helping students experience the expansive world of theater production, nurturing their dreams of working in theater, and investing in the future.
