Thank you for considering funding new compound light microscopes for my students at Mason Senior High School. We would be so incredibly grateful for your help. Our current access to microscopes is very limited because most of them are in a state of disrepair. Students struggle to learn because they have difficulties simply getting the microscopes to work the way they should.
My goal with new microscopes is to incorporate lessons using them into EVERY unit of study instead of just when we are specifically learning about microscope use.
I would love for my students to see the diversity of life, including bacteria species, Protista, and cells of all kinds.
My students are SO SPECIAL to me. I am a very passionate teacher and love what I do in my classroom with them. Specifically, my Mason Senior High School students are unique because they thrive in the classroom despite having very few modern supplies and resources. Our school district continues to struggle to pass a bond from our voters, and the consequences have an enormous impact on how we can keep moving forward with our students with the best teaching practices. I watch most of my colleagues exercise unique creativity to get the most out of our students. However, there are limits to that when there is little funding to support our ideas.
Our students deserve so much better, and in my Biology classes, I would love for them to be able to utilize new microscopes to show them we care about them and provide better equipment for learning new things. Thank you for your consideration!
