My Students

I teach at a lively and friendly urban elementary school. Our student population is wonderfully diverse: academically, ethnically, culturally, and economically. The children have a variety of strengths and challenges, and the classrooms always hum with energy, engagement, and enthusiasm.

Watching young people from differing backgrounds come together to create a cohesive and cooperative learning community is always an inspiration to me.

My Project

My fourth grade classroom is typically bustling with activity. The students are reading, writing, and doing math. They are engaged in community building activities and social studies projects. They are growing and learning throughout the year. My students need basic school supplies such as pencils, pens, crayons, paper, post-it notes, binders, and composition notebooks to make this possible. In addition, to stay safe during the current pandemic, we can no longer share materials in the classroom, so each student will need their own individual set of supplies.

With this project, I hope to stock my classroom with the supplies my students need to launch the school year.
