This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kiddos are exceptional students who are curious about the world around them. My students love to change up the pace during the day and they enjoy getting really creative with new things. Many of my students face challenges in their personal lives but still come to school daily ready to learn and do their very best.
Being 5 years old and starting school comes with many challenges, especially during this uncertain time.
I want to be able to prepare my students for school whether we are in-person or virtual. For a kindergartener, this is already a very scary time and on top of everything else going on in the world right now, it is so important I can provide my students with the resources and tools they will need to thrive as new learners.
I have been a teacher for 6 years now and have loved every second of it. Unfortunately, many of the things I use have been bought out of my own pocket. DonorsChoose has helped me receive more of what I need without having to spend my own money on these projects for my kiddos.
My Project
Please help me finish buying a class set of headphones for my students to use during computer time.
Each day my students use their computers at their independent center for both reading and math.
Sometimes the computers require tests, but mostly just hard work so that I can monitor their growth. While small groups are happening throughout the classroom, it can be distracting for students when they do not have headphones to focus on their own work.
Having these headphones will complete my class set. Getting the rack will also allow me to organize the headphones so that the cords do not get tangled up and students can help clean up daily. This will help all my students be self-sufficient and successful!
