Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income school district and community, my students face many challenges both in the classroom and at home. Nonetheless this current school year we have faced a greatest challenge teaching and learning in a different setting. We have learned to adapt to our new reality.

My kids/students as I refer to them are unique individuals that are eager to learn every day, work hard for what they want and never stop learning regardless the situation they are in.

Yes, I call them my kids because in the year that we are together they become my family.

Furthermore, I am a bilingual teacher who teaches reading for all grade levels starting from Pre-K up to 5th grade. In my classes I have students who speak one language or two making my classes very diverse. As their teacher, my responsibility is to teach them the best of both worlds and enhance their language skills to be successful in our society. During this school year we have learned to adapt to a different learning environment with limited supplies. With your help, I can provide instruction with materials that will help me provide the necessary instruction to them.

My Project

These resources will make a difference in my students' learning by enhancing their skills with the materials needed for the different lessons that I create for each grade level.

This will help me find digital resources that all of my students can use either learning virtually from home or in class with me.

This year has been extra hard trying to teach half of my students at home while the other half is with me in my classroom. With this I will be able to purchase reading units/lessons such as phonic lessons for my lower grade classes and cooperative learning stations for my upper grade level classes. I teach a variety of students of different age groups and I want to provide the best for them.
