Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We’re asking for donations of hygiene items like deodorant, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and sanitary products to help our students. By gaining access to these basics, it can make a big difference in how they feel and how well they do in school. When students don’t have to worry about their personal hygiene, they can focus better in class and feel more confident. This way, they’re less distracted and more engaged in their learning.

Our main goal with this project is to make sure every student has what they need to stay fresh and feel good about themselves by providing these wipes, deodorant, and other items, we hope to create a more supportive and comfortable environment at school.

We want all students to feel confident and included so they can put their energy into their studies and reach their full potential.

The students at our school come from diverse backgrounds with many living in shelters and being new to the country. Unfortunately, this means many of them struggle with basic necessities, and while we do what we can with clothing drives, and engaging with local supports, having a safe in-classroom take-what-you-need corner could really help students who are more shy!
