Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a melting pot of happiness! My class consists of 18 (in the morning) and 16 (in the afternoon) of the most loving, most hard working little people one can ever meet. Their attitude and desire to learn can make any teacher's job worthwhile.

These students are a family, with each one willing to help the other.

Seeing their positivism makes me strive to become a better teacher each day. This year started with an unexpected turn: Hurricane Irma and the loss of school days. Time is gold at this point, when a big year of testing awaits.

My Project

With changing times, comes different learning methods. Technology has really come at us at full force and our classrooms are not equipped with the amount of resources needed. Many of our resources are now online and most times, the difficulty to utilize them is due to limited supply.

Through the use of tablets, my students can benefit from online books and applications that will help improve their Reading and Language Arts skills, which in turn will help boost performance on their standardized testing.

One of the great benefits of using tablets in the classroom is the mobility. Students who finish their assigned tasks can continue to work quietly and independently at their desks, or at any of our quiet stations within the room.
