A Supportive and Nourishing Classroom

Help me give my students a beautiful classroom that supports them socially and emotionally. I believe flex seating is so important and not all students are designed to sit in a traditional desk for long periods of time.

My Project

I will use the flex seating and shelving to work to create a book nook. I want students to have a space they can utilize if they are struggling to stay at their desk or if they are having a tough day. This will also help me to keep students in the classroom as opposed to the hall - engaged and learning. It will also help me offer a more engaging space during lunch periods as my students do not have access to a library. Furthermore, I work in a Title I school and many of my students get their only meals at school. I like to be able to provide a snack if they are hungry- this in turn helps support their engagement and learning.
