This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In keeping with our school wide philosophy of including everyone and being a leader, the donated equipment will empower EACH of my students to use the media equipment to news clips of of current events happening around our campus and/or their school lives and what really matters to each of them individually. While learning from school, this equipment will take the students' level of engagement with technology and current events to new levels. With your help, I will be better equipped to facilitate lessons of empathy, awareness, and empowerment as the students utilize a medium that they are EACH so fond of, MEDIA!

My goal with the equipment is to provide my students (as well as students from other grades) with shared experiences and common points of interest amongst each other.

My expectation is, this will cause students to see themselves as individuals who deserve to be heard and take great pride in themselves and their unique stories via media segments about their favorite books, as well as what's happening in the world - as they know it!
