This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A STEAM School Edible Garden is a continuing edible schoolyard garden project. The goal is to bring more than just knowledge of healthy foods and sustainable gardens. The school garden will help educate various group of students.

The project will help students strengthen their problem-solving skills.

Students will learn about the environment, germination time frames, type of plants, soil enhancement techniques and materials, learning about companion planting, learn how to build raised beds and which crops do better in raised bed and ground settings; how to transplant seedlings with minimum trauma, along with the different techniques on vertical gardening.

It will improve creativity, problem-solving, and planning while renewing a sense of belonging to the school. The support of your organization and donors will facilitate their efforts and make a world of difference for them. Your generosity will help their vision become a reality. Connecting with the students and building their education on sustainable gardens, healthy food, and environmental pathways while working toward a common goal is priceless.
