Teaching is my passion.

I am blessed to work at a school where my heart feels at home. I teach second grade. My second graders deserve nothing but the best. It is my goal for every student to leave my classroom, each afternoon, wanting to come back the next day- excited. I want to create a pleasant classroom environment, where the children can feel at home.

My Project

My school is an amazing, community school where everyone is welcomed with a smile and invited to feel right at home. Sadly, with cuts to education, funding doesn't allow us to give our students everything we wish we could. Some of our classroom furniture is in "well-loved" condition and desperately needing an update. Organization is very important to me, and I want to set the example to my students. When we work in an organized setting, ideas flow better, and we are less stressed in the process. I want to create a computer area that feels inviting and refreshed. This computer table will allow my students to sit at a clutter-free table without worrying about bumping into each other. The privacy folders will allow my students to work independently, especially during our weekly assessments, since my students are set up in groups. My current file cabinet has seen better days. It is very difficult to open. This is where I store all my students' important information.

We currently have our computers on a table that wasn't meant to be a computer station, rather a small group instruction table.

With this new desk/table we will be able to comfortably accommodate two students. The privacy folders will allow our students to independently work on their classroom assignments and have their private, personal space (their own little cubicle.) I also am requesting a file cabinet that I won't have to struggle to open!
