My Project

For years, my lower elementary classroom has had wall to wall carpeting. This carpeting helped cut down on noise, provide a comfortable spot for students to sit, and it helped make the classroom feel more cozy and homey than it would have otherwise. This summer, my school ripped out all of the carpeting in the classrooms and installed vinyl flooring throughout all of our individual learning communities.

My current classroom rug is years old and dirty, so I am asking donors to help me purchase a clean, new rug that will fit everyone in our classroom community on it.

Second graders spend a great deal of time learning from the carpet. It provides a place for classroom meetings, read alouds, math mini lessons, and much more. A clean, cozy place to learn is essential to learning in our classroom community. The rug will also help absorb noise, as now the classroom will be louder than it was previously.
