My Project

Materials will be used for a variety of purposes, such as making basic clothing, pillows, blankets and upcycling clothing.

Upcycling clothing is using sewing materials to sustain ways for students to express themselves while learning valuable sewing technique.

They can transform old garments into something new and unique and reducing waste and promoting environmental consciousness.

Students will focus on beginners sewing project like pillows and clothing for beginner sewer who have not experience sewing before. Starting with simple patterns techniques is the key in building confidences, skills and enjoying the process and learning along the way.

Projects such as pillowcase allow allows straight seams and can be personalized with different fabrics and trims. Students will also focus on basic clothing, such as simple skirts with elastic waist, tote bags in which involves the basic skills to venture on to a more intricate patterns in sewing.

In sewing there are many skills to learn, and learning the basic is the key in building a solid foundation for learning more advance sewing skills. Along the way they will master the fundamental techniques like threading the machine, sewing straight seams, stitching curves, and finishing edges are essential for sewing projects.
