This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is filled with children who are eager to learn. I enjoy our circle time and learning time which consist of music and singing, reading and exploring, and moreover, the conversations and relationships we build every day that we are together.

Our Preschool classroom is a non profit organization run by the Los Angeles Unified School District; designed for low income parents that work or attend school.

Our mission is to provide a high quality early education program to maximize school readiness.

My Project

Pre-school years are the perfect time to get children involved in education. During the age of birth through age five, children are most receptive to learning the world around them. Circle time and providing the children a space to enjoy it gives them an opportunity to grow mentally, emotionally, and socially. Circle time provides children a space where they can start their day. This time allows children to develop their communication skills, listening skills and ability to share as they learn basic educational skills. A carpet provides a comfortable sitting area where they can continue to grow during large group and small group circle time and also a space where children can play while using large building blocks. During large group time, we learn letters, numbers, shapes, nursery rhymes and songs, and participate in games and learning activities. A comfortable, clean carpet is essential for our children’s health and learning.

With our new carpet, our children will be provided an area where they can sit comfortably on a clean area and continue their learning.

With our new carpet, children will be able to identify their space in color. And more importantly, the children will have a space to sit and share during circle time where we continue our learning throughout the day. During carpet time, we learn about letters, numbers, shapes, rhymes, colors, and music. Our children would be delighted to have a new carpet.
