Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first graders shine every day and are strong leaders and team players. They are hands-on learners who thrive on interaction and experience. A fun way to get them excited about reading is to implement a reading buddy. Reading to a book buddy not only gives them time to practice reading aloud in a judgment-free environment, but it also makes reading exciting and something to look forward to.

Reading buddies allow students to practice reading skills, such as describing illustrations or pointing out sight words, in a fun and relaxed manner.

Adding these book buddies will benefit literacy and boost reading confidence. This is a great way to set them up for reading success. The bins will help store book buddies when they are not being used and will make it easier to rotate them.
